Sleeves & Slipcases

Sleeves or slipcases are often used to increase the stability, design aesthetic, and tactile interest of any packaging design. Please see below to familiarize yourself with the standard attributes of each design element.

Sleeve

A packaging sleeve is created from paperboard (most commonly ( .018″ – .030″) or corrugate. The sleeve is open on two ends, and sized to slide over a box or product securely.

Slipcase

A slipcase is most commonly created out of heavy paperboard ( .035″ and thicker), and is designed with one open end to allow a box or product to slide securely into the slipcase.
